Grrrr. Small weep from under the bottom edge of one of the frames. Have removed the excess water into vats and the filtration pit (so I can put it back) and waiting for it to dry....
in other bad news my water flow meter has stopped. Ffs. Going to get another one to re-measure the top half of the fill.

Oh no! That absolutely sucks. Can you use your suppliers water meter (if you're on one).

You are certainly having more than your fair share of problems mate. It will all come good soon a mind be a distant memory when it’s all running smoothly.
Cheers

Thanks guys.
so yes I am on a water meter, but as Feline says, I w ok I’ll have to ban all other use. Only option would be to measure how much water it fills per hour (with no other usage) and then time the fill.
Water meters aren’t too expensive and I was planning on fitting one to the filter pit for the cleaning and top up, so will just get that sorted. I’ve emptied the pond to half depth and the bottom drains are all closed currently, so that will be as good as it gets I think.
should be able to reach the area that needs more sealant from over the top of the glass. Already been in the pit in wellies that transpired to have a hole in one and left me with a numb left foot! One of the guys has been in the pool to fit the swim jet bracket in waders and he said that was freezing too!
Feeling a bit non plussed today, feel like yesterday had a lot of wasted time just shunting water around. Onwards and Upwards as they say!

Keep your head up matey these things crop up, even with my small build things never flew straight, I’m now on my second filter of my new set up, had an intermittent problem with the fist one which drove me and the Mrs mad. We as pond/water/koi keepers just keep going it’s always worth it in the end even if theirs no end to the end lol. Good luck

Hi guys, thanks for the continued interest... Well, pond progress has been a tad slow, but garden overall is progressing. We've spent an in-ordinate amount of time on the pool slide!!! I will try and get a video done tomorrow to show updates.
I can tell you though that my 34kW heat pump is installed (yay), but my plumbing is still in progress (boo), because I've got a freakin' leak somewhere that's not in the plant room plumbing, so its' underground somewhere! .

Ah man that is such a pain! I feel for you bud - that’s my worst nightmare I’m still paranoid about.
My pond is still lying pretty much empty (just got about about 2 feet of water in the bottom) - don’t plan to fill until the spring.
You can get a mole technology now that can go down the plumbing and find the leak. It can then fibre glass inside to stop the leak (pipe has to be empty and dry though). My mate did it and worked well for him. Not cheap but worth its weight in gold.

Noooooo that's an arse, hopefully it turns out to be an easy fix, are you losing much, do you have an inkling where it might be??

I have a smidge of an idea... The pond has held water at about half height before (below all returns and only with water in the bottom drains) before without issue.
Since we went over the returns and the glass we found a small weep on the glass so dropped a little water to reseal the bottom edge of the glass frame to the fibreglass. I have four 2" returns, all of which are ball valved shut in the filter room and no sign of anything there. Slightly above that I have two pond lights and two underwater cameras and two 1.5" pipes, which are a flow and return to the heat pump. My suspicion lies with the heat pump pipework as it travels a fair way (unfortunately as the heat pumps primary job is to heat the swimming pool) and the digger has been back and forwards across the area of the garden where those pipes travel, so the ground may have settled under the weight and cracked them.
I've got an item on my task list to dig up these pipes anyway as the grounds chap I have working here covered it all in (pea shingle first) before I got a chance to remind him to insulate those pipes! So at least (in a round-about way) they have to be uncovered anyway for that to be done.
Currently I have filled the pond to just below the skimmers so approx 6" from the top, it drops to about 9" below in 2-3 days and then slows down. Looking at the height of the where the heat pump pipes come out of the ground at the other end, this might be the most likely culprit, so since that has to be dug out anyway, I will be starting with that, hopefully tomorrow.
Electricians we are using have been very busy, they managed to get my drum connections all wired a little while back, but still waiting for some more external sockets, they are here tomorrow, so they should get done hopefully, but they have a rather long list!
