All we ever got was cold,
Get up, eat jelly, sandwich bars and barbed wire,
Squash every week into a day.

Evening gents. So I’ve just popped a short video up of a failed EA Varipump 20k. Let me know your thoughts if you don’t mind?!

not sure if the impellor shaft is snapped my aqua forte impellor doesn't wobble about like that
and that has cause the scoring or it's the classic modern pump problem...?
in order to make pumps ever more energy efficient, they have to close the distance between the stator and impellor.
meaning the gap inside the pump housing that the impellor runs in gets very small.
if any scale builds up inside the housing it causes friction with the impellor scoring the inside and heating it up and causing more scale to build up,
(scale doesn't have to mean limescale it can be caused by heating and drying out bacterial mulm or algae to make a hard build up.)
as it heats up it causes the stator to work harder and the motor draws more wattage.
either the impellor starts to jam and you get one type of error message,
or it needs more voltage to turn the impellor than it can supply (over voltage)
or the windings over heat and short out then it's dead.
i don't know what your error message means ( you need to look at the manual)
but i would try descaling the impellor and especially the scoring inside of your stator housing, to see if you can remove the scale build up and scoring i can see.
i find a solution of citric acid best, but white vinegar is good also...
aqua forte reccomend descaling pumps with acid every month!
but realisitically once a year would be provident. depending on how clean your pond water is and if it's before or after drum filters.Last edited by davethefish1; 23-09-2023 at 12:32 AM.
