I've boxed in the posts, before I lay the concrete floor, just in case I ever need to dig one out. These are about an inch taller than the finished floor height.

The corner posts look thick enough to drill into, so for now the electric cable and the water will come up here once I put a 90 on the blue pipe. I may well not risk drilling them, but we'll see.

I've bitumened the back of the gravel boards and posts. I had some left over from building my workshop. It's to help stop ground water soaking through as much as possible with this setup. I've also got some bitumen sheet left over which I'll put down the gravel boards before I backfill them.

So today consisted of cutting the gravel boards in half, fitting them and back filling.
I had some bitumen sheet lying around so that went on the boards at the bottom.

I only had enough to cover the bottom two boards all the way round. So above that I used some damp proof course type material I had a bit left of. Then I used Up all the boards so ordered a few more to finish the job.

Despite ordering exactly the same gravel boards from the same place, the second lot turned up and were different. I'm not too fussed though as it's only the inside of the filter house, so decided to use them.
A slight annoyance is that I worked out, using the old boards where exactly the finish height would be level with the top of the posts.
After cutting the new boards I realised they were wider. Oh well Its getting a roof over it at some point.
On to the next job.

I've built a sleeper wall from some sleepers I scrounged ages ago. Then levelled off the ground behind and reinstated the kids trampoline in its rightful home.

A good days work today. 4ft trench dug for the final soil pipe run and some fantastic improvised tools got us knocked/drilled through into the main drain. (The sds drill wouldn't fit in the manhole!)

I could even start to backfill once the manhole was set up.
The manhole itself is getting surrounding by 10mm gravel.

I've modified this Bottle gully to take perforated pipe that goes around my subterranean workshop. We will 'T' into the pond soil pipe here (below) before it goes into the main sewer.

1inch pressure pipe. Confused.com
I have installed 2 of my 2" returns through the retaining wall.
I put a tee piece in at water level so I can install some upright pipes to skim the foam off. So I ordered some 2" to 1" reducing bushes and some 1" pressure pipe (from different suppliers eBay and pond planet for the pipe). They don't work. The ID of the reducer is 28mm, (1.1inch)The OD of the inch pipe is 33.4mm (1.3inch), the ID of the inch pipe is 1.1inch. Googling 1inch pipe the 33.4mm OD is correct, even though not a single measurement works out at 1 inch. What the actual f*ck?
I have some 25mm pipe, I've ordered some 25mm straight connectors which hopefully will fit or I can machine them down to fit, but it really should all just work shouldnt it? Or am I missing something? I've asked eBay man for a refund.

So I am a fool.
They are upside down.
There is a collar on the face you can see which is 28mm matching the ID of the standard 1inch pressure pipe(which we now know doesn't measure an inch in any way shape or form. You are supposed to glue the pipe in from the other side of this reducing bush and push it up to the collar. Oh well. 33mm drill bit ordered. I'll drill the collar out and can still glue the pipe in.
The bevelled edge is obviously, in hindsight, to aid flow when reducing the Internal Diameter. Luckily for me in this application it isn't going to make a lot of difference.
I'll chalk this one up as experience!2660 Gallons. 4" Bottom Drain and Skimmer. Draco Solum 16 Drum. Anoxic Filtration. Air lift returns.

I cut out a section ready for the 4x 2" returns. Two on each side. I had already tried to do this with neat circles cut into the insulation, but I completely ballsed it up and I realised this way would give me more room for error when matching them up to the pipework.

Still a bit rough at the moment, but this is where the box will go. Two 4" bulkhead connectors for two air lifts going into it from within the tank and four 2" bulkhead connectors on the outside of the tank to feed the four returns.
The rest of the tub will be anoxic baskets.
