I realise that doing the returns before I've done the topcoat is not ideal but I need 3 of the 4 returns done now so I can bury them with the spoil I have.
I got the another return done today and because they are getting buried before I can test then properly I went over all the joins with CT1 before they got buried. Fingers crossed.

Got about 1.5ton of chalk back in here, which has cleared the way, on the other side of the pond, ready to start digging for the soil pipe.

you're doing well in this weather mate.
and i don't envy you digging pure chalk out instead of soil

did you silicone the pressure plastic returns, or just put it over the solvent weld?

Everything was solvent welded and left to set first, then CT1 around the joints afterwards.

It's going to look worse before it gets better, but at least this next stage will be the last of the digging. And it really does feel like I'm getting somewhere now.

More digging! By the end of the day the 'filter house' is dug ready for a concrete base at some point.
Plus the trench is pretty much done ready for the manhole and soil pipe. Just need to figure out where I'm putting the return.

Got the third return done. This one will be hidden by the first step up off the patio.
I've mocked up where things will go. The white pipe (left over from another job), will have the water pipe and armoured cable run through it.

The fourth return just comes straight out here into the filter area. I don't know exactly what the filter area will look like. It will be more posts and gravel boards to retain the dirt, and then probably just posts off the base and a roof to start with. It can all be enclosed later.
