Started to make the top section for the back side. It is the 1800mm section I cut out before for the side window, but it needed an extra bit grafting on.

Every time I try and figure that out, I realise how much there is left to do, so I dunno, because its too scary.

All four sides on the pond would be a good milestone.
Then do the window frames and get some glass ordered.
Then I'll need to insulate the bits I won't be able to get to when the ponds moved back into position.
Then move the pond back a foot to its final location. (4 volunteers required)
Then getting the floor done would be great.
    Then top coat.
    Then fit glass
Then worry about the filter system / filter house, running water and waste.

Got the top piece made and fitted. It obviously needs still needs going round all the joins properly, front and back, but it is at last starting to look like a pond / margarine tub.

I am probably going to form the floor with 12mm PU foam sheets, angled down towards the drain, then fibreglass over the top.

Got started on the other side panel this evening. Sanded all the top coat off one side and re-inforced the panel with 2 layers of 900g. The was some slight damage on this panel so it may need some attention on the other side too.

Flipped over and redone, now more like a chastity belt. Holes covered on both sides.

Good job Alburglar's DIY fry setup and grow on pond and filter.

Still a fair way to go.. when you likely going to have it finished? Whats the end volume going to be?

The other side is made, sanded and ready to bond on, I need to have a look at insulating the bottom two layers on the back side, which I have scavenged the materials for. Then I need to find volunteers to move it back 12". That could cause a delay, as could ordering the glass, but the end is in sight!

I have painstakingly done the maths for every nook and cranny, but without knowing the final water level, it's reasonable estimate is 2450 gallons, plus additional volume for the window recess', bottom drain, pipework and filters, so something close to 2550 / 2600 gallons total volume is likely.

Sanded back and blended in. Not quite seamless, but it will look like it was always there once the top coat is on.

Insulation time. Ages ago I scrounged some roofing boards. They slope from about 30mm to 48mm thick, but as long as I join thick end to thick and thin to thin it will look decent. I think I only paid £25 for the lot so can't complain.

The insulation that's already on the bottom and middle row of the filler panel is only about 20 / 25mm and set much further back. You can see the difference here, where they join, but it will all be out of sight when the pond is in position.

Are you glassing over it or cladding?
