I've seen LED strip lights they look very good, I wonder if they would be better than the beam off a floodlight?.,

Sunlight in its pure form has a kelvin temperature of around 5,000 degrees kelvin and a colour rendering index of 100

Most lamps you get have a 6,500 degrees kelvin and a colour rendering index of 80, although they don't quote the CRI normally. in sunlight you can view 100% of the true colour a lamp with a CRI of 80 you can only see 80% true colour.

CRI is used to describing the effect of a light source on the colour appearance, so this is what is the most important to look for, and the thing that isn't normally quoted.

So basically its a lucky dip on what works best with colours and what doesn't, also personal preference, anything above 5,000 kelvin to 10,000 kelvin can be classed as natural daylight, but only if it has a CRI of 95 or above

Sorry that was a bit long winded but I've had customers quoted completely the wrong thing based on 6,500 kelvin and the colour was crap, this is for visual inspection lighting, so colour is important

    Rant over lol
Hi Roy, have you a link to those lights you mention, as I wouldn't know what to ask for without getting it all arse about face

When you say 80 CRI is a good light for colour, do you mean to show the colour off, or to prevent fade?
Not to read a newspaper makes you uninformed. But to read a newspaper makes you misinformed

80 CRI or 80% true colour

Its only 80% true colour but it shows good, close to true, natural daylight for the price, so it will show the fish colours well

3,800 gallons total . I think I left it 8 weeks then added some of me smaller fish then gradually added the bigger ones over the next two weeks , just about pulled it off as we sold the old house so was on a time limit . I didn’t feed them to much as I was worried about the good bacteria being killed off in the cold weather but that seems to have paid off at the moment .

This is great mate, looks fantastic.

Unfortunately the missus, who is a big fan of windows, disagrees. She said "This is just boys and their toys, who can get the biggest window into a pond, it's all about size with men"

    Apparently.

I am not a fan of windows but I must admit yours looks awsome, like the way it goes nearly to the ground must have cost a bit

What is the stone cladding on the pond and what is the cladding on the nearby building?
Sorry for the questions but I think it will be very impressive, like it.

Thanks buddy . The glass was £2000 with the stainless steel frame , the pond cladding is splitface copper I think and the shed cladding is cedar shingles , I really overdone the budget but definitely worth it .
