That pond is the nuts mate..... finally light at the end of the tunnel.

A handful of 80cm+ gosanke would look amazing in there.

Been busy so not done as much as I’d like recently. Most of the plumbing done now just some final pieces on waste and overflow and next weekend my fibreglass guy coming back this coming weekend to add a layer of tissue to the whole pond

Added some pipe work pics just to keep it ticking over

Waiting for the weather to settle as need to put a layer of tissue and gel coat over the whole thing as had a couple of pin prick holes in there! Soon as it’s warm and dry I’ll be back on it. Also managed to injure myself which has put me off finishing the drainage to be truthful. Don’t think I fully appreciated how long it would take when I started

Only just seen this build diary and it’s incredible, a huge well done !
You said you under estimated how long it would take, mine is a fraction of the size and took 3 years !! I did have several delays due to work and family commitments.
looking forward to seeing it full of water and koi going in.
    Good luck
    Mark

This! I started mine in April last year and it was running in December but is still far from finished! I did dig it all out alone after work with a spade though which took till about mid August!
I hope your injury is nothing serious and its sorted soon, I need to see the end masterpiece!

Well it’s been a while but time for an update. Last year saw a leaked by pond and lousy weather so nothing really happened for the rest of the year, being truthful it got me down. New year new start and managed to find a way of getting the tarpaulin fixed firmly to bridge the whole pond and my Fibreglasser booked. Then double checked all the drains and piles only to find I had a pressure leak.

No option other than to dig it out and replace, £1,200 later and it was replaced and retested, this time it held pressure.

The week my Fibreglasser was originally due back was warm sunny and dry, now rebooked the forecast was rain, rain and more rain.

Unbelievably despite weather forecasts prophesying storms at 98% day after day we had 3 dry days and we got glassed

Anyway got some of the coping stones on and now filling with water, everything crossed that it’s all sound this time

Nightmare, was it a leak from a joint or split pipe? You have a great looking pond now, hopefully time to enjoy over summer, with a beer, we can appreciate the effort it’s been to build this, so hope all rest goes well. Cheers

Scamp - not sure as getting it out damaged it anyway but if I’m being honest with myself it must’ve been the join, bit of grit or something, bit of bad luck, who knows but had to put it right rather than just put a bung in it

Well at long last the fish that have been in the garage since last April have made it into the pond. Bought from Queni at 6” they were around 16” today and looked amazing when the saw daylight, especially the purachina. Anyway picture attached, the air is a bit extreme at the moment but waiting fir a valve so I can bleed sone air off, it’s all coming off 1 Jeboa 150 pump!
