This I think is the "Pond of a Lifetime" you are referring to. I believe all forum threads discussing this pond were removed from all forums at the request of the pond owners.

Yup that's the one (reported in some places as 88,000 but actually 55,000 gallons with 200 fish) ... brilliant automated maintenance concept but one of the best examples of people making the mistake of listening to and believing marketing hype ... the auto maintenance system did not work because it was programmed by boffins who had no experience of ponds and were programming using the marketing specifications/claims of the products used in the design

So eventually it all ended in a flurry of fingerpointing and passing the buck ... the owner sold the house ... and the new buyer wasn't interested in ponds .... wasn't in existence for long, under 3 years ... an expensive lesson .... some of the gear was sold on .... ... and it was reported that "some" of the fish found new homes ......

Here's some more vids of the construction etc. (the filter room looks great) ... but unfortunately didn't work as well as it looks and some of their later vids with kitchen fitting and 5050 LED strip programming aren't quite so impressive: https://www.youtube.com/user/forestelite/videos

LOL ... on system error simply reboot! ... a lot of people jumped on the opportunity when they saw this poor guy coming with his "money is no object within reason" project ...

Hi! I have been very bussy latetly. Had to finish few non koi pond related projects. So very little time for the main project.

But I have made some order next to the pond, burried all the pipes from skimmers. Now ground level is almost the same everywhere near pond. Final cut with some fresh soil and gras after building filter house and connecting all the pipes.

I am also at the end of building wooden deck next to the pond. At first place it supose to be a little bit over the pond - about 0,5m. Something like hanging platform. But after some measurements it turns out it is to high in comparison to the ground level next to it. Small step would have to be between deck and grass level. Second thing, this hanging platform should be very thick - about 20cm - to provide enough strenght for a few people standing there. And it doesnt look good. Pls see pictures below. So now deck is just at pond level and I must admit it looks much better.

Trying on hanging platform shape (not exact height, but close to it) :

    Final deck:

    20190707_184918.jpg

    20190707_185005.jpg

So tomorrow I am going to finish deck. Next step is to make some order in the nearest area - between house and a pond. Plan is to make 2 step terrace using railroad ties. Then putting soil and final layer of wooden bark. This will be the place for a few maples miniatures - most beautiful plants during autumn. Love them. Hope to make this within two weeks and finally start digging next hole for filter house

Thanks god for this update I was beginning to think you were not going to give anymore updates to the thread. This is going to be a very special pond once completed. I don't know why but I seem to think this was going to be an above ground pond which would have looked amazing but the fact that this is going to be an in ground one makes it that little bit more special. Love it.

Is that a couple of little fish I can see already living the life of luxury in there??

At first plan was to make it 30cm obove grass level, but then I thought I will make some curves jus next to the pond - to "hide" it more in the garden. Yes, there are 11 kois at the momment.

Here is first sketch of BIO chamber (left side) and DRUM chamber (right side).

Those big boxes are dummy drum filters. I am checking which model to use and wheter the filter house area is enough to accomodiate one of theme.

    Bigger one - https://www.dvs-filtertechniek.com/DUITS/pp100.html
