I use this to take the waste from the Draco (Nexus) to the drain / plants / garden etc
https://www.plumbworld.co.uk/flo-for...xoCHY4QAvD_BwE
Each time the Draco washes the water runs into the macerator which has an internal float and pumps it away.
In the winter I attach a pipe to the macerator which runs round the perimeter of the garden to the drain, and in the summer I connect a flexi pipe that I move around the garden every few days to keep it watered.
If I could be bothered I'd use solid pipe around the perimeter of all the flower beds and drill holes in the pipe so the whole garden is getting watered equally each time the drum cleans.

I finally feel like I’m getting close to the finish now. Drum is arriving Thursday and Thursday i should have the water supply by the filter ready to connect the Draco drop in. Tomorrow the copping stones are going on and I’ve got the trellis on the shallow end now for the Mrs to grow her plants up. Needed a new electric box with 5 outlets now with the Drum to connect and the sump pump I’ve put in the buried water butt to top up the above ground butt. The bank holiday on Friday should give me the chance to see what it all looks like and plan something better for my slimmer return. Might go with a Bakki on there for a bit more bio.

More progress today. Capping stones are on. Still need a good clean but will let them go off first. Tomorrow I have a plumber coming to put a water line next to my Nexus ready for the delivery tomorrow of my Draco. Might need to call on some support to get it in properly.

The new toy arrived and operational! Plumber did a cracking job getting water down the garden and even gave me a hand set the Draco up. Really happy with it, now to wait and see the difference it makes. Now to get the cladding on and the Mrs to start planting something up the trellis.

Looks good mate. Just waiting for my new drum Replacing my older drop in.
I will keep that as a spare. Back up.
Keep your eye on your water testing. As when fitting the drum it can affect your water parameters for the first couple of weeks. I think if I remember right. RS. On here it altered his readings to start with lol
Why I don t know. But it did.
Looks the dogs nads mate. Enjoy the fish
And ponding.
Fred.

Yep, it says on the instructions that your nitrites may spike for a couple of weeks, and mine did.
But when I asked Manky Sanke to explain why that happens he simply said there was no reason for it to happen.
I suspect maybe the nitrite bugs congregate more in the static eazy section, so the real cause of the spike might be from removing that to make room for the drop-in.

Pond build dilemma
I have this issue too with my current build - I have a very shallow surface water drain running straight across my garden restricting the size of pond I can have.
When ever I look down the manhole cover it always look bone dry though, so I’m considering doing the 45 bends you mention Andy.
Is there anything else I should be mindful of? Sorry to hi jack your thread Chris - I’ve been trying to resolve this for ages and then came across your thread and this advice.
Pond is looking good by the way

I like this build and filtration wise I think you've got it spot on.

Pond build dilemma
Hi, has anyone had any success with raising fry? Any do’s and dont’s?
I’ve got a 300 Gal tank set up through a bottom drain, into a pump, through a EA 25w UV then through the multi bay and return. Also there is an air pump that’s split into an air stone in the bottom of the tank and one in the bio in the filter. I’ve got a couple of fish maturing the filters in there at the moment. I’ve ordered 100 6-8 week old fry from New Dorset Koi arriving in June. First time for me trying this. I’m wondering if I need to put a smaller grill on the drain.
Thanks,
Chris

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
