I am waiting until a couple of weeks lol.
As government and councils are dragging there feet on paying out lol.
So what savings we have. Its staying in the bank. And spend it as we need it. Right now where doing the cafe up. Redecorating
The place. To keep our five star rating. New roof on the storage area at the back. Just been fiber glassed. Where not skint. Just spending on the right things like the cafe.
So where ready to open when this is all over.
So pond is secondary really.
I have put in for my Scottish widows work pension that lost £7000.00 in a week.
So I am cashing that in. Before it loses much more.
25% tax free. 4 or 5 thousand for me and our lass can have the rest. From that 25%.
The rest will go on an annuity payment for me every month until I kick the bucket.
Then I will 2 inch it. And buy another drop in draco. A new uv. And a shower. The draco will be there ready for when this one packs in.
On standby so to speak.
That's the plan. But plans chang lol

After having my filter media out for a couple of hours yesterday.
Thought I would test my water parameters
Ammonia 0 nitrite 0. Ph 8.2. Nitrate 10
So everything good. Filters are producing.
As nitrates are showing. Ph is always 8.2
We have high kh here. But that surprised me. Normally always 12 drops.
Today it was 8 drops.
So I will test that again during the week.
I used another bottle on that for a retest
And was still the same
Just fed the fish. Doing a weekly 10% water change right now.
And I will start my trickle in and out starting from today.
Because as the weeks go on. I will be upping my feeds. Testing parameters all the time.

Here is something that can guide people with tempreture
Of when temp stages of parasites can hit your fish copied and pasted
Important Pond Temperatures
40 F*(4.5 C)*and below – very little activity in the pond
48 F*(9 C)*– Aeromonas – ulcer causing bacteria become active and multiply
50 F*(10 C)*– Costia – a common pond parasite begins to reproduce quickly. Flukes are slowly reproducing.
50 F*(10 C)*– Nitrosomonas a good bacteria in your pond and filter that convert Ammonia into Nitrite become active
50-55 F(10-13 C)*– Koi and goldfish should have ‘awakened’ and begin to feed. Their immune system is starting to work again. Start using cold water bacteria to jump seed filters with good bacteria
58 F*(14.5 C)– Nitrobacter the good bacteria that converts Nitrite into Nitrate in your pond is becoming active
60-64 F*(15-17.5 C)– Other parasites become active (Ich, Trichodina and Chillodonella)
65 F*(18 C)– Fishes’ immune systems are getting stronger – up to 50% of full strength and can fight off most typical bacterial and parasites in the pond if water quality is good.

Usually, once your pond warms up above 65 F, the chances *of your fish becoming sick is much reduced. As long as proper pond maintenance is performed and water quality is maintained, you should enjoy a trouble free pod season.

I reckon 18c. As the immune system is fully functioning. They reckon 16c is half immune system. That's just my opinion
I am not heated. With covers on. I was roughly between 8c and 10c. But winters gone by. I used to go down to 4c to 6c
And had a lot of ulcer problems.
Since covers used the last 2 years no ulcers

Just cost I suppose - the higher the temp, the greater the demand for heat
