    Hi Brian. I’m so sorry to message but was searching about a static K1 bed and came across your posts. To be honest your posts sound word for word the situation I’m in. I have a 9000k pond that I inherited when I lost Dad.
    I slowly recommissioned it on a budget and had 2x Kockney Koi 5000 bay filters. Both had:-
    Vortex with brushes
    Brushes
    Jap Mat
    Jap mat
    3 layers of foam and 1 layer of floss

    I’m getting too old to clean them out each Sunday so I’ve replaced 1 unit with a budget drum that now feeds into the remaining bay.
    I’m guessing the brushes or the vortex are obsolete now?
    So was thinking static micro K1.

    How did you get on?
