I've used 2 inch all the way on mine as the outputs on my pumps were 2 inch, if they weren't though I think I would have stepped them up to 2 inch

Biography:: Kept aquarium fish in the '80s and recently took up the hobby again, currently have 2 aquariums with a selection of freshwater tropical fish, we always had a fishpond when I was growing up but I've never had a pond of my own and I think koi are beautiful creatures so now I've finally got a garden of my own I am building my dream Koi pond
