- Kept aquarium fish in the '80s and recently took up the hobby again, currently have 2 aquariums with a selection of freshwater tropical fish, we always had a fishpond when I was growing up but I've never had a pond of my own and I think koi are beautiful creatures so now I've finally got a garden of my own I am building my dream Koi pond

I understand how the overflow / bypass would work in a pump fed setup but I can't see how it helps...
