As said by Kev T, water quality and / or parasites are the most likely cause. I would encourage you to test the water - post the results on here...

hello mate sorry its taken a while to get back to you im running a vari flow pump on mine running at about 15000l mine is also returning through a uv, if you are running it with a 10000 i would leave it running but just keep an eye on perimeters,

Hi,you recently advised me on my biomax bead ,its all connected now but i think I need a bigger water pump, ive got a 10000 l on it now but I read a write up on them and they recommend 15000- 20000 ,do you mind telling me what size you have running on yours..
