I went down to Cuttlebrook Koi Farm last November. These were chosen but I wasn't sure what variety they were at the time. They were in the 4-6" category and I would say are now about 8-9". The chagoi that I got though are over 12" and growing fast!
I recently sold a lot of them to a local aquatics shop. He sold most of them within 2 days!
I have now bought some more fish from Cuttlebrook but this time off the web and by post.I purchased 25 of the 3-4" mix and 10 of the Jumbo bloodline mix (chagoi, karashagoi etc.). I will grow them on over the summer and see what I end up with.
I would definitely recommend Cuttlebrook Koi Farm. WHen the restrictions lift I would recommend a visit. They have an online event this coming Saturday starting at 10am. The fish start at £60 for around the 33cm size.

Thanks for the info and yes I think it is a Soragoi, grey chag basically and grow fast.
I am up N Wales so a good way from Cuttlebrook.
Been looking at the 4-5ins and the 6-8ins but dont want to order and get crap basically.
Do they let you specify what breeds you want or do you just get what they want to give you ?
They are out of 3-4ins now.John

Hi John
It does say on the website:
"These Koi are approximately 4-5″ long and a random mix of the following varieties:
Kohaku, Showa, Sanke, Shiro Utsuri, Kujaku, Doitsu Kujaku, Hariwake, Doitsu Hariwake, Ogon, Doitsu Ogon, KabutoAt the checkout in the ‘notes’ section, put any specific varieties you would like included here, and we will do our best to meet that."
So you can ask for specific varieties in their list if you want. That's not as good as picking yourself but that's not possible in the current situation.
I have always dealt with Lisa (co-owner) and she is very helpful if you wanted to give her a call.
There's never any guarantee with these fish because they are so young and can develop several different ways. Some good, some not so good.
However I have never lost a fish from Cuttlebrook so they must be pretty healthy.
Regards
Peter

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your reply, didnt know you could specify which breeds you want that is a lot better.
Last year I got 280 six week old from New Forest and they grew out nicely, kept a few and sold them mostly.
Will definitely look into them more thanks for your help.John

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
