Good home needed for two beautiful and large koi.

Due to a house move, we are looking for a good home for our two well-loved koi — a Mukashi Ogon, approximately 2ft in length with striking metallic colouring, black-tinted scales, and an impressive size and presence and a vibrant red Benigoi with black spots, approximately 1.5ft. Both are approximately 11 years old.

These are healthy, active but calm and curious koi from an established pond
, with excellent body shape, strong colouring/lustre, and a lovely presence in the water. No visible damage or deformities.

We also have various pond equipment and accessories for sale including:

    • Blagdon Minipond 9000 UV pond filter with new UV bulb, new filtration sponges and a spare UV bulb.
    • Oase Aquamax Eco Classic pond pump
    • Two pink flowered waterlilies
    • A cala water lily
    • Various other pond accessories, e.g., net, chlorine control, blanket weed control, aerating plants. large pond net, pond testing kits, koi sticks.

Buyer must be able to provide proof of a suitable pond/home for the fish and arrange safe collection and transport from Flitwick, Bedfordshire (MK45 1UD).

Please feel free to message me for more details. Open to sensible offers.

Hi. Sorry I'm not really in a position to take your fish. In fact, I need to move some for my friend. I just wanted to suggest, to avoid any ambiguity, are the fish free to a good home?

It is good that you care about their future welfare could you specify what your definition of "a suitable pond" is ? It would be useful if you could tell us the size of the pond they currently live in and what temperature (if any) the water is kept.

With the pump etc, you should put prices up for a faster sale.

All the best with your house move.

Hi. Thanks for your feedback on my post.

To clarify, I have stipulated on my ad that I am open to sensible offers so, no - the fish are not free to a good home.

A suitable pond would be the right size for two large koi with the measurements I have given. So a pond that is at least 3 ft deep and holds at least 2000 litres would be the minimum here I believe. But a koi enthusiast interested in the fish's welfare should know this. Of course, the number of fish in the buyer's pond is also an important consideration.
