Oase Profilear Premium Compact Drum Filter Error 44
Hi all,
Not sure if this is the correct place for this post or not but seeing as I brought the drum from this section second hand I thought it would be a good place to start.
And yes I purchased the drum second hand from a member of this forum.
I have just got around to connecting it up last week due to build delays etc. However when I turned on the drum after consulting the manual and doing the checks I have an error 44. Drum not turning. I check all connections the drum moves by hand but still the error 44 is there shouting at me.
So can anyone with this drum help me out with tips experience etc so as I can get this drum working it would be truly appreciated.
Many thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,
Sorry to here your current issues.
I have recently purchased the same drum used but have not yet set it up. Hoping I don’t have similar issues.
Have you looked the error up on the manual?
Wondering if you could have misaligned the drum in transport?
Hope you get this sorted.

I’m pretty sure that I had the same error code 2 years ago. I was told to check if the drum rotates with out too much resistance.
Check the rubber seal around the drum. If that is ok then remove the magnet off the lid and place it in the corner turn off and on then press the manual clean button and watch to see if it works.
On my it turned out to be the motor that’s was broken, well when I took it apart it was filled with rusty water. The seal failed between the metal plate and casing.
I replaced the motor and have had no trouble since. I hope this helps and makes sense.

Good day to you all and first and foremost many thanks for all of your suggestions and thoughts.
I have removed the drum and checked the alignment it was in a sorry state silt every where, I reinstalled the motor with out the drum for a test and still had the error 44 the rubber looks as if it is fitted well and after reinstalling the drum it all moves freely so I will speak to Oase and see what they have to suggest.
Once again many thanks to you all I will keep you posted.

Hi Freddy,
Just to let you and everyone else know Oase do need the paperwork, bill of purchase or a bank statement before they can do anything.

Hi Dave.
Thanks for the updates on the progress you are making. I am worried now that mine may have issues, is there a way to test this without having it all plumbed in?

Hi Mike,
I would have thought that you can fill the drum to a level below the inlets (so as the water does not flow out through them) and with the waste outlet closed at the bottom you can run a manual clean to test that there are no errors on the drum. You will need to ensure that there is suffice water to cover the cleaning pump.
It should run you will of course need the lid on or as Martin suggested remove the magnet and put it in place. Keep us posted and good luck.

Oase Profilear Premium Compact Drum Filter Error 44
Hi Dave,
Managed to plug it all up and test. I am fortunate that everything was running fine with the exception of 3 blocked jets.. I have removed them and currently soaking them in BC
Hope you manage to get it sorted and I hopefully do not require another motor as I believe these are around £450!

Hi all,
The issue has been resolved, I was able to get the motor replaced by the team at Oase, I went and picked up the motor as they were only an hour or so away and wanted to get it repaced as soon as I could.
All at Oase were extremely helpful and I cannot thank them enough.
Pond up and running well water tests are all good, and I have happy fish!!
