Koi grow on set up, price reduced
I built this in my garage a few years ago, since i dont keep koi anymore i wanted the space back.
The actual grow on tank part is Fibre glassed and has 50mm celotex insulation all round and underneath, it has no cracks or splits and it never leaked, and the insulation made it really efficient to run, it has all the drain, return and overflow built in, it just needs a single skin of concrete blocks erecting around it or maybe even a wooden skin as long as its built strong. I had it in a corner so i only had to build 2 walls in blocks.
I have a bee hive filter that i used with it, which has a 3 inch inlet underneath, a vortex settlement chamber in the bottom and 3 large trays of bio, at times I had up to about 20 fish in the grow on and water parameters were always good, i always had fresh water trickling in and out at the same time, but thats a must for anything koi anyway imo. The water comes into the filter up through the central round pipe then goes back down inside the square central part before coming back up through the media, it works pretty good tbh but like any vortex filter needs flushing periodically depending on load, it has a built in flush valve so its easy.
Also have 2 air pumps, I used to run one in the grow on and one in the filter to make sure I had no dead spots.
Also have a small submersible water pump that I had actually sited inside the filter, so that no pump was visible, it made it nice and neat.
Also have 3 stage water pod dechlorinator.
Pretty much all you need, the grow ons exterior measurements as it stands now 1250 wide x 2085 long x 1150 high, I think it was 600 gallons or so, about 2800 litres.
Delivery possible within a reasonable distance if fuel costs covered.
£300 for the lot.
Located Junction 27 off the M1 motorway.
Thanks Dave

Facebook and gumtree are free so that’s where I’d start, eBay as a last resort

yes I suppose it would, you would just have to reduce the inlet pipe size to match your pump outlet size, I felt it worked better gravity fed though tbh.
I had it so the filter would fill by gravity and then I had the water pump inside the top of the filter pushing it back in to the pond through a 1kw heater, worked well tbh.
Thanks Dave
