K1 for sale
I have around 300l K1 for sale (give or take the odd bit that's escaped)
It's only been in my chamber for a week or so, I've had a top secret change of plan, all will be revealed shortly
Looking for £250, collection only from GU17 and I'd prefer to get shot all in one go.
Please don't ask me to send it/package it up cause it's a right faff if it spills everywhere in transit. Currently in bin bags/rubble sacks and a carrier, taking up valuable room in my garage and I know I'm going to get fed up with tripping over it very quicky.
Warning..300l is A LOT!!

I’m actually going to use Anoxic baskets. It’s a leap of faith I know but I’ve always quite liked the idea but bottled out however, it’s been nagging away at me and I’ve finally bitten the bullet. I can fit 24 baskets in my chamber and I plan on being lightly stocked. I also have a shower type thing which I’m planning on running at more of a trickle.
Worst case scenario, change the chamber back to K1 lol

Not sure I would be that brave, I was going to put a box down the side of the pond and had considered having anoxic baskets in there as well. Haven't got around to it yet though!

I’m struggling to find anything bad tbh, apart from one chap who had his laterite leach out and that’s preventable.

We do sort of get stuck with what people think works.
I guess with one basket per fish you could still have quite alot of koi in your pond :-)

I truly believe that this is the right move, if done correctly it will eliminate 3 of the big problems we all face. People like fancy flash machines that promise the world and turn their nose up at something because it doesn’t look the part. Simple and effective and I’ll be following suit when I get my act together

I guess so, will have to see if it pans out over the next year or so.
It’s a shame most of the people who adopted this method a few years ago seemed to have vanished from the forum because it would be great to see if they’re still using it or have switched to something more conventional.

I've been reading up on it over the last few days and giving it serious thought, mechanical stage first is the key bit.
When your doing the baskets do a write up BCC just for us nosey gitsNot to read a newspaper makes you uninformed. But to read a newspaper makes you misinformed

Mate, it’s not rocket science
I’ll take some pics when I do the final few but it’s all on Manke’s site.

Lol, if I can make em, anyone can but sure I’ll document it in s step by step on my build thread. I’ve put up a shopping list already which hopefully people will find useful.

sounds interesting, I always wonder if anoxic baskets will give safe refuge to parasites during treatments though, what do you think ?

Possibly I guess if they squirrel themselves away deep inside a basket but in reality I’d have thought wherever water can get, any treatment would get also.
A bridge I don’t hope to cross any time soon
