Cambridgeshire Koi club - Closed show 2 Oct 2010

At the January 2010 AGM Geoff Winn (our newly elected events co-ordinator) put it to the floor that we should look into the feasibility of holding our very own closed show, we’re pleased to say that after much discussion it was agreed by all members of the Cambridgeshire Koi Club in attendance and Geoff was duly elected to the position of Show Chairman.

Since that time Geoff has been working tirelessly looking at venues, speaking to dealers and other koi related businesses, communicating with other sections to glean information and generally putting his all into the process of ensuring the club could ‘pull this off’.

Many of the club members have never shown their koi before, infact only two have, and so in the months from the AGM the club has spent their monthly meetings going through the details for bagging and transporting koi as well as the benching process etc.

In the mean time, behind the scenes and thanks in the most part to Geoff, the club has secured a number of show sponsors and many show supporters and the location of the show has been agreed.

It was decided that we would announce the show to the world at the BKKS National Show in Stafford by using our club stand to display the newly designed and printed show flyers (see below) and discuss the show with anyone that wished to listen.

So, after all that, we’re pleased to announce the first Cambridgeshire Koi Club show in recent history will be held on Saturday the 2nd of October 2010, they’ll be over 20 vats of high quality koi, plenty of trade stands for you to browse around, free parking, refreshments etc as well as a display from Alan Coogan of some of the fantastic fish from his collection.

We really hope you take the opportunity to come along and support this new show, after all, it’s the last chance to visit a koi show this year, and if it’s a success as we hope it will be, who knows what we’ll do next year!

Exactly. Look how good the koi were at the East Midlands winter show. Also, this is about koi welfare and them looking their best, not at the worst time of year that suits us.

Cheers for the comments and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. The more the merrier they say !!!

    Cheers
