    Help required

    Hi Everyone,

I've recently built an above ground sleeper pond of around 4000 litres, I've got 12 small koi and everything has been going well. I've noticed a couple of the fish staying near the bottom and when I came home this afternoon I found this fish on the bottom with what I imagine is fungus all over its body. I've pulled him out and placed in a bucket to keep him away from the other fish so any help identifying the issue would be much appreciated.

Please let me know if you need any additional info to help diagnose.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, that poor fish died last night. Luckily, I had today booked off, so I was able to pop down to my local Koi dealer. He was able to scrape one of my fish and test my water quality. I had been testing with the little dip strips, but he said they were rubbish. When he tested with his kit, I had moderately high ammonia levels. The scrape revealed that white spot was present, so I have just finished doing the first dose of formalin and malachite after a water change.

    Fingers crossed.
