    Hi Murdoch,
just some questions, before advice - how many fish have you got, and what size? How long has the pond been running? When you change the water are you using filters/dechlorator to remove chlorine/choromine?
Pressure filters aren't great for koi keeping due to the extreme waste produced by them and PF have very small bio capacity...how often are you cleaning..
    all the best

Thanks scamp the ponds been running for about 4-5 weeks. The fish I have are all very small 1-2Ē apart from four larger goldfish at 6Ē tops. I think Iíve around 15 of the small in total. I filled the pond ran one filter with no fish but did add dechlora and let it run 24hours before adding the 4 larger goldfish. The smaller fish added after a week the two weeks. Due to running a treatment through I have only cleaned the filters once in that time as the treatment took 10 days I didnít want to affect that so decided to leave cleaning the pump until after that time.
May have no relevance but I did have larvae in the filters which Iím told is to be expected. I do have a Lilly in which is growing well and flowering again not sure if that indicates good water or nothing at all.

1 to2 inch koi are fry, now we are moving into a different ball game, they need more attention feeding little and often, having them in with larger fish could mean they are not getting enough food!
Fry would normally be kept in a tank on their own to grow, mine won't mix with bigger fish till at least 4inch but that's a personal thing for me, others may do different

No not stupid, just a easy mistake. If you have the ability to separate yes but if not then just try feeding goldfish first and while they are busy throw in the small pellets for the fry, they will need 1mm and maybe 2mm if they are big enough, koi will grow around 1 inch a month in good water that is around 23c and with enough food.
They also have massive long term memory and as they grow will remember the goldfish that bullied them and payback time lol
