Hi its very , one of our larger fish had developed quite a deep ulcer which we treated topically yesterday, so hopefully that will be a success. On further inspections this morning all the other fish look and feel healthy with one exception who is showing early signs of ulcer developing on either side by his pectoral fin

as AJM has said as a precaution make sure you test for ammoia ph kh temp ect.
make sure you check water temperature in the morning, at lunch time then late afternoon to see if the water temp is varying wildly in warm / hot weather - this can stress fish. My pond used to swing 4° in aday (2° up 2° back down) before I heated, not ideal tbh.
also, if the temperature is above 15° are you adding additional oxygen to the water e.g. a fountain or air pump. High water temperature and associated lack of oxygen should not be an issue this time of year unless your pond is heated or covered.
as you know its best to test and get the facts before you take any action.

When you top up water how do you remove the chlorine. If its a 3pod when did it last get changed just wondering if its that causing the ulcers

We've not topped up since last summer and we do use tapsafe declorinator. Ammonia is sitting at 0.2. Nitrites and Nitrates are 0. Acidity is 7.5.
Best plants to remove Nitrate
pug has a very impressive veg filter on his pond, have a look at some of his his youtube videos....
