It looks as though its got a couple of damaged scales which will probably need removing and then giving the area a good
clean and sealing, you will more than likely need to sedate the fish to be able to do this.. Apart from the damaged scales I take
it she / he is acting normally ? Hopefully others will be along soon to give their opinions and what meds you will need to treat it
with...………..Good luck

Where are you located, there might be somebody on here who would be willing to give you a hand
You might get a few more suggestions tomorrow when a few others are on.

Hi I have a doitsu. That had the same problem last year. After having flukes.
I have pulled scales before and it's easy.
But the doitsu scales where something else lol. Like armoured plated.
So what I did. Was get it out. Put it to sleep.
And I put some pp on a cotton bud. Under the scale.
Teaspoon of pp in a cup. Full of water. A cotton bud. And dabbled it under the scales. Making sure it never ran on the rest of its body. By putting towel roll. On the fish underneath the scales. I did this two or 3 times over 2 week period. And it's as good as new this year. It did nt lose the scales.
Check your water parameters. And you need a couple of fish scraped.
It's all right treating a fish. You need to know what is the cause of it lol. You need a microscope. If you don t have one.
If you can t get help anywhere. Just mail
My mail box. And I will give you my mobile
Number. And I will talk you through it all.

Hi Fred
Thanks for your thoughts, I will have to research this a bit more as I really don’t feel that comfortable and would hate to think I might harm him even more

Cheers mate. You well. That new drum is working well. Not a crumb or anything in the nexus. Bottom. Did you know that instead of buying a new drum. Tony told me you can send your old one in. And give it a m o t. And add new parts is needed.
I had already bought mine. When he told me that. So I will send my old one in when I get around to it.
And can afford it. Got to be a hell of a lot cheaper then buying a new drum.

Hi Fred, yep all good thanks. Had more time to do those little tinkering jobs on the pond, with this lockdown which has been great.
My Draco working well, gave it a clean out a while back, and flushed inner Nexus chamber with a purge. Didn't know that either re. service/MOT.. Must be cheaper as you say - I might do that do that in a year or so - easy to take out and stick the old Easy in whilst its gone..only issue is packing it well enough without damage to the waste tray..
Then get used to cleaning Nexus old way, been a while since I've had to do that!
