Potassium Permanganate do you actually have to bypass your bio filter?
I have PP'd my pond. I watched a few youtube videos and thought I was pretty clued up. Then after treatment I was reading up on when I could feed the fish again. That's when I saw that you are supposed to bypass the biological parts of your filter. I didn't, i understand why that could be bad, so I'll be monitoring parameters closely. I have put a filter boost in.
However, if you are treating parasites surely you need to treat the entire water system to kill all stages of certain parasites. Otherwise it wouldn't work. As soon as the PP is neutralised and you turn filters back on you would be back to square one.
What do you guys do?

Yep same as above always have left filters running, I treated over a month ago and everything has been fine since.
i watched the feed for a couple of weeks, had a couple of tests with nitrite (just very slight colour)
I'm feeding 6-7 small feeds a day now and the koi are hungry all tests have been good and haven’t bothered with any filter bacteria this year.

Same mate I do the lot mate.plants filters
Plants. I even with all treatments spray above water line about six inches. Just in case any thing is living above water line.
Even my nets.

Nitrates have rocketed up from around zero to 40, but I have been feeding fairly normally. Other than that, nothing else to report parameter wise. Certainly no ammonia spike. I haven't changed any water yet. I've just stuck a bull rush in to get the nitrates back down a bit.
