    Poorly Koi

Hi, my Koi is very poorly. He is swimming on his side in short bursts but spends most of his time upside down at the bottom of the pond in a quiet spot. He has a couple of white 'waxy patched on his side, on his caudal fin and on one side of his mouth. Also a peach coloured raised patch on his pectoral fin and surrounding area -approx 2cm. I have treated the pond (4000 litres) with two doses of F-M-G mixture, one week apart and now giving him a salt bath every other day but doesn't seem to be helping him. My local fish shop has said my water readings are ok. Please help as hate seeing him like this. Thanks

If you could add a picture it will help for the people who may know what they are looking at.

    Hi Claire,

where are you located? There may be someone local on here who can assist you in person.

does your local shop undertake mucus scrapes for parasites?

    Cheers

Hi Gaz, thanks for the reply. My Koi is still hanging in there but is now swimming in erratic circles- still on his side, I didn't think that he was going to last. Im based in Luton Bedfordshire, would you know of anyone in this area who would visit? I really don't know if the fish shop could test for parasites. I will call them to find out. I would like to upload a photo but don't know how to on this forum.

    Hi Claire,

Perhaps put on your profile on here your location as this will be visible to more members.

I would suggest calling your local dealer and seeing if they will visit and scrape for you. If not, try locating your local Koi Association as they may have members who will visit.

    Hopefully someone nearby can assist.

    Cheers
