Yep Paul, the Costia is work in progress
Will see what PP does, if not in the interests of science I may just have a play with something a little different from the usual PP or M&F.
The mag is a little confusing when using a USB camera, to give you an idea of scale - towards the end of the clip I changed lenses and the size on the Vid at the very end is typical of what you would see at 100x.

The 100x really gives you and idea of how many there are.
What magnifications do you use for each critter? I know this is probably posted somewhere

Its good to be able to recognise your foe , I remember seeing Trich on my microscope and thinking oooh look Trichodina ..oh $hit I got Trichodina , do you think partasites are more prolific now than they were say 10 years ago due to resistance of the treatments

the general ''pond stuff'' wasnt strong enough so i had to use the aquarium stuff at £9.00 per 20ml bottle.
i also had to treat every koi topically as where the leeches had attached themselves and bitten ulcers started.
one koi that was 2 ft had 175 leeches on it.

This is a great topic, I don't suppose anyone has close ups of carp pox do they? I suspect one of my koi has it and have been advised to do a scrape however I don't want to do it till I have something to compare to.

Hiya
You wont see carp pox on a scrape, its clearly visable on the fish with naked eye.
A scrape would help confirm whether the white patches on your fish are something other than carp pox.
Duncan put together a useful article on Carp Pox on his Koiquest site that may help you.
