Large ulcer
Some weeks ago I noticed some kind of raised ulcer/growth on the snout of my ginrin sanke (I think it is about 6 yrs old). The fish seemed fine, eating normally and no unusual behavior so I treated it with iodine/orahesive/propolis. I did this for two consecutive days and it seemed to be improving so I stopped treating. In the meantime it has now grown even bigger (the photo shows the size/location but doesn’t really show how raised it is), so I started the same treatment again today. I previously did a scrape but couldn’t find anything. The fish seems otherwise very healthy and no signs on any other fish. Ammonia 0. Nitrite 0. Nitrate 10. PH 7.5
Am I going about this the right way or should I be thinking of something else? I don’t have any quarantine tank to medicate separately.
TIA.

I would say carry on with your treatment and you are doing right.
No others got any infections?
Some Virkon aquatic in the pond can help as well.John

I would second using Virkon. Deep clean filters first then treble dose at 15grams per 1000 UK gallons. This is bad bacterial infection! Assume you’re not heated - It can go wrong very quickly from here given the temp drop and aeromonas alley. If you don’t control this quickly when temp drops further later this week it would be even more difficult.

Looks like a tumour.
I have a 24" fish which had a nasty one on its flank which also kept being snagged and bleeding.
Finally anaesthetised it and did my best at cutting as much as possible out.
18 months on and it's starting to regrow, so will probably repeat the surgery in the Spring.

4th day of treatment and no obvious improvement so I am starting to think it is a tumour. It also bleeds easily. If it is a tumour, what is the likely outcome and best method of treatment?
Cheers guys.

my Sanky had a similar growth 30mm dia. Advised by specialist vet of a tumour,Advised by other suppliers to euthanise the fish but too good to lose.Used Virkon in pool and does Microbe lift Thera P on monthly basisThis strengthens the immune system. After 12months reduced to 3mm
Filtreau 25 & bio unit
