    Acriflavin(e) Dip Concentration

    Hi all,

Trying to work out what would be the correct Acriflavin(e) dip concentration. The standard treatment strength on the bottle is 10ml to 364 litres.

I read here that 10x dosage is appropriate: Koi Carp Medications, Koi health, and Koi carp treatments and I thought I should probably check if that seems right.

    Thanks.

I've not heard of that before so cannot directly help.

    Questions to ask yourself are:

What are you treating and why do you feel a 10x dose is appropriate?
Why a dip treatment over and above a pond wide treatment?
Does water hardness effect the toxicity of Acriflavin and if so how does your water hardness compare to the author of that link who uses a 10x dose?

The article doesn't reference dips from what I could see and I'm not sure a dip would be any more effective than other topical treatments depending on what you are treating.

I'm currently using Duncan's ICC which I'm pretty sure contains Acriflavin but I don't know at what concentration. Last dose just went in so too early to tell if its been sucessful against the Costia I was targeting.
