    Any ideas

    Morning everyone,
Iam hopeing one of you lovely people can advise me, iam new to the koi world and dnt have the items to scrape etc. I have attached a photo of some kind of white fluffy foam on my little ghostie, the rest of the fish seem to be clean.
Do you know what it is and is there a solution i could add to the pond without harming the other fish.

    Many thanks Karlos

    Good morning and welcome.

I’m relatively new too but have a seen a few similar cases that seem to point to carp pox

    Spot on, thanks James.
I'll have a read. It probably doesn't help that it's unheated and temperature is currently at 11.
    Again thanks for the info

i'd agree looks like carp pox to me too,
like any viral disease, in a similar way to cold sores,
the reason they show up in winter is due to the extra stress and immune reduction, cold induces in koi.
it can be made worse if there are any other stress factors like a pond related to water conditions, as long as your parameters are fine.
young fish seem especially prone to it, and suffer less as they get older and stronger.
one factor can be young ponds, once they are more mature, a few years old, they are usually more stable.

    No probs, cheers Dave,

I'll leave be for over the winter and see how he gets on.
Water seems to be fine and the other fish.

is the affected fish otherwise healthy and eating?

Yeah appears to be fine health wise, no bad behaviour and he is eating fine and he doesn't seem to be bothered by it from what I can see
