OK so bought the ST and added as directed left 24 hours then tested with the velda still reading CL 0.3. So did a DPD4 tab test and was completely clear, tested the tabs because Ive had them a while on tap water and instantly pink so know I can trust them. Also found some test strips in the shed which I know arn't the best but they came back 0 too. So conclusion is velda is pants at testing CL which is possibly why its the only test result that doesn't get sent to the app when you download them??

Checked all the other results against my API drop tests and rest seem reliable. So I am taking the softly softly approach to bringing the KH up by adding 75g of sodium bicarbonate every other day until it hits 6.

Ive also fitted a sock to the outlet of the filter which has collected a fair bit of crap some of which is definitely the dust the kind builder next door gifted us, but still getting traces of that turning up in the skimmer etc but at least I know that if it does go through the filter the sock will catch it. Just can only have it on when I'm home otherwise run the risk of it blocking and overflowing the filter so may take some time.

All the fish except the sterlets are still flicking/flashing including the grass carp who was last to start. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can try, test or look for next as something is irritating them and only thing I know is that it wasn't there before all the dust went in unless its just a coincidence another problem occurred at the same time???

    Thanks
