bruised looking lateral line?

Hi all I have just discovered this forum I wish I had found it a long time ago :-(
I have a koi that otherwise appears happy, water quality is tested and normal (slightly complicated by the fact that I keep the water brackish to keep algae levels down in the tank). But on one side his lateral line looks reddish and bruised, perhaps very slightly raised but nothing really dramatic. He's a white fish so I thought maybe it was showing through the skin, but the other side is not so red. And it's JUST the lateral line, the flesh around looks normal and there are no sores, fins are in good condition, eating normally etc.

I wondered if anyone had ever seen anything like this? it seems a bit of an anomaly. I think about a week ago the other side looked similar but now seems normal again.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum, it would be really helpful if you were able to post a photo of the koi, appreciate this is not simple if the clarity is poor.

Out of interest is this koi doitsu (scaleless) I vaguely remember RS2OOO having a doitsu ochiba that had a swollen lateral line.. looked a little like a varicose veinbruised looking lateral line? I believe it just went away as fast as it came up with no real explanation for it coming or going.

I’ll see if I can find the thread
