    Ulcer on fish

    Hi,

I have had 2 fish due suddenly on me with no markings etc. Looking closely i have found one of my koi with an ulcer i think.

I have moved it out to a tank now but not sure what to do. Also i am worried about the other koi.

My parameters are 7.4 ph, 0 amm 0 nitrites and 5 ppm nitrates and i have done a 25% water change since

Its a 2000 gall pond with an ultra sieve fed by bottom drain to a nexus easy pod. Also has a bakki shower.

    Help!

Have you done any scrapes for parasites?

No, i don't have a microscope or the knowledge of what to look for.

That fish has since died and i have noticed another fish with a similar sore as it started in the other.

I have dosed my pond with metafix and hoping that works.

Is there anyone around North London with a microscope who can help me?

    Thanks Shumit

    London Acquatic Vets.

Based in London. Bryony , very knowledgeable, will scrape , test water and treat. Obviously vet prices but worth every penny.

Briony was brilliant and was specialising on including koi health in her practice but, unfortunately, she died some years ago in an accident in the utility vehicle she was driving.

I think this is a different Bryony who is alive. Either that or she recently emailed me from the other side!

Have heard nothing but praise for her.

She works with Dr Richmond Loh when he's not in Australia and I believe he either owns the practice or has a stake in it.

Ahh that Bryony, I thought you were referring to another lady and had misspelt the name. Yes sorry, my mistake.
