    Facing down

    Hi all,

Today my butterfly koi has started facing downwards for a few seconds like heís staring into space, then after a few seconds he swims off normally like nothing has happened.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated, I do have a video of him doing it but I canít upload video only pics

Parasites are often the culprit. If the fish continues behaving this way, you're going to need to carry out a scrape and have a look through a microscope.

I was right - boing boing

As per text message… Aurora Koi offer a call out service where we will test the water, overview the pond set up, check husbandry routines, demonstrate handling best practices, undertake a mucus scrape, diagnose any parasite issues, offer a range of treatment options, supply medications and when desired ‘train’ keepers how to scrape their koi - plus drink a cup of tea or two…

    Cheers

    Hi Pete,
Gaz did a call out to my house last year.
I can recommend it - reasonable rates and a useful experience.

I had the same issue with a chagoi and a course of 3 treatments of m & f appears to have fixed her.
