    Formalin?

    https://www.apcpure.com/product/form...SABEgIhJ_D_BwE

    This looks rather like the formalin I’d normally buy? Ingredients are;

    Minimum Assay: 36.3-36.9%
    Molecular Formula: CH2O
    Molecular Weight: 30.03 g/mol
    Formic Acid: <0.05%
    Methanol: 6.0-8.0%
    Ash: <0.01%
    Iron (Fe): <2ppm
    Copper: <2ppm

    Am I missing something obvious, I’m no chemist so would be interested to hear from someone who knows more than me about these things

    Yes it’s the same stuff. Some branded formalin for koi is 30% though so you would need to adjust the dose down for this as it’s 37%.
    ‘I would not advise buying in bulk as it doesn’t keep very well and is toxic when crystalises.

    I’ve got 13,243 gallons if I treat, FMG for 3 doses means buying in bulk is a fact of life

    Thank you for the reply, you might have just saved me a fortune
