Ph 8.8
My fish have stopped feeding (they will still rise for the odd mealworm but my regular koi sticks just stay uneaten
I have just done a water test and nitrates, nitrites and amonia are all coming back as close to zero, however the ph is 8.8
ill assume this need getting close to 7.5 and is probably why they are not eating
filtration is a nexus 200 and 55 watt uv
how do i alter ph safely, and how fast?
Thanks in advance

Mines 7.5, I know that this means that something is leaching into the pond but I'm stumped. Have heard about adding viniger buy am worried about knocking back the kh. Done tons of reading online buy apart from going for RO (not going to happen) I haven't read anything definitive.

I got high pH and very high kh straight out the tap, when I do water changes I use 50% tap and50% filtered rain water keeps my pH and kh at good level. Used to do 1/3 rain but wasn't enough

There was some discussion on a previous thread and a suggestion that all the algae, blanket weed etc produced oxygen from carbon dioxide during the day which raises PH, and process reverses at night reducing PH again. My pond probably shifts up by 0.5 during the course of the day

If it's of any use to anyone I discovered my pond gets a pH spike every year at some point between end of March and early May.
Had it again last week and that's when I looked at previous records and discovered the pattern.
Possibly being caused by photosynthesis as temps warm up and algae etc starts to multiply.
The spike only lasts a week, maximum 2 weeks. Maybe if others are seeing spikes it might be worth holding off for a week to see if it normalises.
Btw, pond pH will always be higher than tap pH as the pH rises once the water is dechlorinated.
