Alparex
Just a quick one peeps.
I know you have to check KH before applying Alparex, But the question is can I add it to a salted quarantine tank at 0.3.
I've got a fish with fungus. So I firstly treated it with FMG but it's got worse, so now I've water changed after a week and added salt at 0.3, but need to know If I can add Alperax with the salt. I really want to save this fish If poss. Atm It's still clamped up on the bottom of the tank covered in fungus.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Atb, Steve.

Will Acriflavine work, given you’ve got salt in your system already?

Still in the water.
Columbo are giving very cautious advice now after some big fish losses that have happened in some very specific circumstances. I think the worst cases have been a flubendazole interaction. Make sure you raise your KH to 6 for the Alparex too, you have soft water there don’t you?2016 new 6000 gallon pond

I understand what your saying Distiles, but when you see a fish getting worse you just try anything to save it.
My son bought the fish off a reputable local dealer, and ever since we put it in the quarantine tank It went down hill very fast, It started off sitting on the bottom and not feeding, I thought it was just settling in, but then it started clamping up and the fungus growth started. Got worse each day hence the treatments. The dealer did give me my sons money back after a few texts telling the in's and out's, but I don't think he was happy about it, he didn't even mention giving me a refund until I said I feel he's not bothered and it looks like My son is £165 out of pocket. He then refunded me the money saying it is a goodwill gesture and not an admission of blame. Don't think he was a happy chappy, but I did say that If I can save the fish and bring it back to good health I will repay him for the fish, but didn't get any reply back.

You have my sympathies, it’s a horrible position to be in and a dilemma we all face occasionally I’m afraid.

Just a quick heads up for those who don't know. This is the answer I got back from Colombo.
Dear Steve,
Yes, you can use Morenicol Alparex with salt in the pond water, as long as it is below 0.3%, so 3 kg per 1000 ltr.
Best Regards, Met vriendelijke groet, Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
