Nice work Mark, I was surprised to see how much lower the outlet was compared to the inlet!

When I put the overflow on my pond last year I just went with a tank connector through the side with an elbow on the inside turned upwards so it has the same effect as your inlet has. Mine then just empties into a tub with another version of an overflow on. The tub has a tank connector mounted near the top on one side then using 40mm push fit, on the inside of the tub it goes 90 down to the bottom of the tub and then another 90. On the outside of the tub it goes 90 down to just below the bottom of the tub then 90 and out onto the grass. When the water level rises in the tub it only empties to just below where the tank connector goes through the side of the tub, but if I empty the filter into it or the foam bucket for the protein skimmer and the water level goes above the top of the tank connector then it empties right down to the top of the 90 inside the tub because it can then siphon which works for me but I might alter it later this year as the tub needs to be replaced so I'll drop the tank connector down so it's nearer the middle of the tub so when I empty the filter or foam bucket it will start to drain out earlier. Might even just go with a shower low profile drain on the bottom of the new tub plus the tank connector system I currently have as well.
