    Carp pox advice

Any carp pox experts on here? Looking for a bit of advice on what I'm 99% sure is pox
Basically a number of my last year's spawning are still in the main pond and are showing symptoms of carp pox,it came about last winter and it's still evident,it hasn't got any better or worse all spring & summer but I'm sure now the temps have dropped again there seems to be a a larger number of pox lumps present, what's the deal with this? I've read it just goes away on its own eventually? I believe it tends to affect young fish and has something to do with water temps?
Frustrating because I'm still overstocked because of these fish which I would usually move on but obviously i can't offload fish with white lumps all over them

Worth noting that none of the larger/older fish have ever shown signs of it since it appeared on these smaller ones last year

Thanks for that ive just had a quick scan will take a proper read later on. Tempted to get a separate holding tank and keep them at a higher temp in garage or shed over winter see if I can keep them feeding and try and boost them up a bit see if that improves the situation

    Dan,

I wrote that article to cover the many points I see regularly raised about carp pox and, when you read it properly later, take note that stress is the major factor especially with younger fish. Although the stress of a cold pond is a common trigger, if you're overstocked, the stress caused by overcrowding is possibly why the lesions haven't subsided over the summer. Another stressor is poor water quality so, if the overcrowding has caused the essential parameters to fall outside acceptable limits, that could be another reason.
