    Bulging eyes and death

Just had my third death, with another likely. Although all my koi are old (10-15yrs). I purchased last summer two new koi, I am now wondering if they are the cause? However can anyone suggest a treatment.
3000g pond two easy pods thanks.
    kind regards Mike

Bulging eyes often go with dropsy, where the fish has taken on board more fluid than the kidneys can get rid of. It’s often accompanied by ‘pineconing’ of scales, and/or a general swelling of the fish.
It can be caused by sepsis or kidney failure, both of which tend to be fatal and are end stage processes to other diseases where the fish becomes overwhelmed.
The next step should be to scrape for parasites to look for underlying causes, and a full set of water tests.
    Do you have a microscope?

Thanks feline for your reply, the fish didn’t have pineconing, they just got very lethargic lying in the pond and sometimes trying to eat delicately almost like they couldn’t see the food.

I do have a microscope but never used it.
    kind regards Mike?

Its likely you have a parasite issue in your pond, assuming your water tests are ok?
There are loads of good YouTube videos showing how to get a mucus scrape from your koi, and what to look for under the microscope. Alternatively you could see if there is an aquatics company doing pond visits in your area.
