    Opinions on my issues please

Hi, I have been having some issues with my koi, lost 3 in the last 2 weeks. About 6- 8 weeks back, I started to notice white dots on a couple and one had a chunk missing from his tail fin.....then a few more started to get what look like circular lesions on the sides. I had 2 or 3 fish like this. Scraped and found some trichondina and chilodonella in small numbers, treated with FMG.

koi seems ok, no other signs of distress, but gradually more fish seemed to be getting these spots and lesions, now have about 30% of my 25 fish with them, including my prize shiro, who has a nasty looking raised and red area either side of the base of his tail and another fish has some mouth rot starting. My koi guy has been, and all we found was some dead trichondela, but he treated this time with chloramine T, two weeks apart. Last week I lost one fish and this week 2, found them floating dead on the bottom, with no marks or anything to indicate why.

My nitrates and nitrites were on the high side, so have been doing plenty of water changes and stopping the feeding, but it seems every time I look, the lesions etc are getting bigger........

Any ideas please? Parameters all good apart from the raised NO2 & 3. Obviously a bacteria issue at least and have been trying to lower the temperature in the pond But this is still 18 degrees.....down from 21. Oh and one or two are behaving off, hanging near the surface and not being very active. Most seem fine though apart from the marks....which seem to be mostly around the tail area.

Time for some more scrapes, I reckon. Then you can see if the earlier treatments were successful, before deciding what to do next.
This year has not been a good season for a lot of koi keepers. Good luck, hope you get it sorted.
