Nt Labs fmg, is it safe to..
Before i go out and buy 30% formalin and 2% Mg. I have a new bottle of fmg i would like to use up first. Is it safe to double dose with fmg as its a weaker mix?
Malachite Green 500 mg/100 ml, Formaldehyde 15000 mg/100 ml

I'm not going to do the sums because I'm crap at them.
I'm also not going to recommend double dosing the NT Labs predominently because I was told its not that straight forward (with regards to working out the concentration of pre-mix versus dosing separately). I suspect the person who told me that is wrong.
I have personally double dosed NT Labs FMG and my Koi were fine.
But still that's not confirmation it is safe, particularly as I have hard water which could lessen any toxicity effects.

Hi
Do you know why FMG is different strength to the separate bottles.
I recently contacted NT LABS enquiring about their range of treatments and why several have the same chemicals but at different strengths surely there must be a strength at which these chemicals should work so what do the lesser strengths do?

Can only guess why they are different strengths. FMG seems to be heavily marketed in garden centres where maybe more people over estimate pond volumes and possibly don't have the facilities to add more air during treatment.
Had a long discussion on this point recently where we concluded the weak concentration of some products may contribute to the parasite immunity that has become so common.
Yet Kusuri premix is same strength as their individual bottles.
I've seen costia still alive after treating with NT Labs FMG.
