Ghost Koi spots? can anyone tell me whats wrong?

    Hi all

For maybe 3 months now have had some spots / (approx scale size) which initially started on a few scales maybe halfway down the side of the Koi, then a small patch toward (but not on) the dorsal fin.

Have also noticed spots just above his head, bigger patch than areas on his side - see attached.

We have tried 3x treatments of Tetra Medifin which appear to have improved the spots on his side but the head spot / area persists for now.. Can anyone diagnose what it is?? We have looked at guides and diagrams etc but nothing seems to fit, i.e. white spot is much smaller sand like spots and doesn't look like ulcers or anything else. Very confusing.

Setup is approx 8000litre pond, which is approx 1m deep for about 1/2 of it's area. Recently upgraded (2 weeks ago) pressurised pond filter rated to 10000l/hour with 11W UV. 5000l/hour oase pump ATM (planning to upgrade to 10000l/h soon).

    2x air stones

Did have a surface skimmer which recently failed. pulling leaves from the surface on a daily basis ATM.

Fish stocks - approx 100 goldfish in varying sizes mostly young though, biggest maybe 5" most around 2". No other Koi. "McKoi" approximately 14-15" length. (don't shout at me, this all came with the house!) I've kept tropical fish before but not a pond. For over a year we did have nearly 200 fish but gave these away to local fish store and a friend's pond..

    Can anyone advise please?

EDIT: PH approx 8.0 (tapwater is the same). GH and KH are high in this area too - both in the pond and tap water. Ammonia zero, Nitrites zero, Nitrates low, Phosphates near zero. Oxygenating plants and lillies a plenty in pond.

Hi there, the photo's not that clear...…..but are the white patches a bit like candle wax, as if somebody's
held a candle above it and dripped the wax onto it, if it does that's called '' carp pox '' and is harmless but
unsightly It looks as though he / she is feeding well and looks well health wise so wouldn't be to concerned .
But others will be along shortly I expect to advise further.
could you try and get a better photo, might help with diagnosis

    Thanks for your reply

It does look like that actually. I've grabbed a few photos with a proper camera and it's hopefully clearer. The first one you can see faintly where the spot first appeared on his right side, just behind and below the dorsal fin. They have faded a bit and the bigger spot has appeared on his head.

    Thanks again.. DSC_2079.jpgDSC_2072.jpgDSC_2065.jpgDSC_2057.jpg

Cant you see the photos Gaz ?...I can and can enlarge them by clicking on the photo it looks like
somebody has tried to colour him / her in with a paint brush but the 4th photo along on his /her back still looks a
bit carp pox'y to me. Maybe if you whatsapp Gaz as he suggested he might have a better view on there.
Ps....please don't add any more treatments to you're pond without knowing what you are treating for, to be quite
honest you could do more harm than good and we don't want you to loose any fish
