Bresser LCD microscope owners simple query...

    Hi,
Does anyone have a bresser LCD screen microscope. Is the power supply a generic ac/dc black box and single plug socket into the microscope? Or a 2 pin lead, like the one on a kettle? Or something totally different? A photo of the socket /plug and the details written on the power supply would be really handy!
    Thanks in advance,

...moving on from the original post, I have found a replacement screen for these for £24. Bresser want £50 plus postage.

...Also does anyone have the software to connect the microscope up to your laptop?

I'm not posh enough to have a fancy one like that just the one with the eyepiece camera....
but..... a quick google gives this info

    • 230 V mains adapterPower supply parameters:
voltage: 5V, minimum current: 1 A, plug 5.5 / 2.1 (standard long, plus in the center)

    (taken from here) https://teleskopy.pl/product_info.ph...%2050x%202000x

If you can find a power supply matching that with a suitable end plug I would think you'd be fine.

I suspect the "proper" type is something like this though its listed for a telescope https://www.bresser.de/en/Astronomy/...-12V-3-0A.html

Don't know if that helps.... hopefully someone will be along who actually has one.

You are both posh enough for one with no power lead.

    Bresser say:
"But you also can use an universal power supply with following data:

    Output: 5V / 1000 mA
Connector: 5.5 mm outside, 2.1 mm inside
Polarity: + in the middle, - outside"
2660 Gallons. 4" Bottom Drain and Skimmer. Draco Solum 16 Drum. Anoxic Filtration. Air lift returns.

So a standard wall plug 5V 1Amp power supply. The important bit is the + in the middle (or tip as it's often called). I have a load of 12V power blocks for the telescope equipment and one that is configurable voltage and polarity.

Yes, that matches what I found on the specs ...• 230 V mains adapter..Power supply parameters:
voltage: 5V, minimum current: 1 A, plug 5.5 / 2.1 (standard long, plus in the center

Is it worth trying one of those cheap power supplies you can buy for about a tenner, so long as you make sure the polarity is correct in the end plug I'd think theyd be fine...

Ebay is awash with them, ..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-Plug-A...80d711a10d8eb8

    Only just seen this.
I'd be interested to know if it has any drivers to download on it.
Bresser have since got back to me and said it doesn't need any.
