I’ve took it out now , it literally looks like cotton wool in water, I saw a golf ball size in there last week and found 2 more today, the only thing I can find wrong with my water is the ph is a bit high around 8

Hi Caddy
The pond won't properly kick off until you've got some waste in there, the waste comes from the fish and their habit of polluting the very water we are trying to keep perfect - how dare they probably best to check the water a few days before the fish are going in for chlorine from the tap water, this should gas off when going through the filters and from the pond surface.
Good luck

Did you fill and flush pond out. To clean after your build. Then refill it back up.
Could be stuff left in there from the build.
I always flush first.

After I first built the wildlife pond we kept finding what looked like cotton wool balls. (Look a bit like cocoons).
It was large insects that had died and started to fungus up.

Thanks guys, I’ve taken a sample to my local fish shop and he’s informed me it’s protein build up , and no harm to the fish, it will dissipate as the pond matures , and to be honest it looks like it going already, thanks again
