I suspected it was from Wada.

Next year I will be in the market for one of his Kirin, which come from a 96cm Nezu Ogon female mixed with Kujaku males.

Both of my matsuba are from wada aswell and they seem to be quality with good solid colour and body shape imo

My Wada Kirin was 22cm and only £75 in 2019. They were new to the UK market back then and great value.

This was her in 2022, maybe not retaining the best quality of colour etc, but she had such a presence in the pond I didn't care. She was my favourite by miles and if I had to choose between her or the rest of the pond, I'd have chosen her:

In Summer 2023 she became egg bound and died just a few mm short of 70cm. My first ever Koi loss and I'm still gutted to this day.

She was a beauty, and fantastic growth at 70cm, such a shame you lost her though, its always the favourites that we seem to lose first. Shocking that she was only £75 even though it was 6 years ago there's huge differences between prices of then and now

Speaking of a presence in the pond our ki matsuba from wada is a character he/she was quite skittish at first and even managed to scrape her belly and knock off a scale in an escape attempt when first put in the pond which left him/her a bit sulky for a week or 2 but now every time I'm in the garden its the first one up the window and following me around the edge of the pond, I'm trying to encourage hand feeding mostly with this one which seems quite happy to greet me every time I appear near the pond

The ones that attempt escape via air when you first buy them usually turn out to be males in my experience!

Females normally friendlier and more willing to handfeed (most but not all).
