What type of Butterfly koi is this called ?

My shop has this listed as a Maya or Mayan Butterfly Koi. Im guessing that is a nickname. I was curious what its skin type, color pattern etc. would be called. It has skin, scales, mirror scales (?)

I assume the name Mayan might simply suggest they are bred in South America.

This type of scalation makes it a doitsu (scaleless except for the run of scales on the top of the back).

It is so inbred and skinny I am struggling to identify what variety it may have originated from.

Whilst koi like this might be attractive, they are not considered high quality in the sense that the Japanese breeders would probably cull any fish that turned out like this but they are probably sold by pet stores and garden centres as an affordable way to attract people into the hobby.

Yeah, it does look of very odd proportions, but as long as you like it, that's all the matters in this hobby really.
Beware of trade names, they are usually gibberish

Thank you guys. I do like it. I just got him for my backyard pond and not serious collecting. I will fatten him up, he eats like a pig lol.
