Measure up, photo and scrape..
Well this weather is pooh, so togged up and after watching ETH’s heroes demolish the lunatics of Real Betis I’ve had everyone out for a photo/vid and measure and scrape. No nasties, long may it continue.. but after a few recent additions I need to move a few on …. Some decentish growth (15-18 months since last measure) but main thing all healthy and doing well, I need to feed much heavier this year to get more growth so some have to go.
See “for sale section” if anyone’s interested in a few I’m moving on. I need to move on before the end of this month ideally, but happy to hold for anyone not heated. Currently at 14 degrees.
Sekiguchi Kindai Showa (female) (Sansai) 66 cm. (Recent addition) Pics don’t do her justice
NND Yamabuki Ogon (female) (Sansai) 55cm, was 38 at Nisai so fairly pleased with growth. Loving the body, colour and fukrin
Gin rin Chagoi (female) 63 cm
Maruyama Gin rin Kohaku (Male) Sansai 60 cm (from 47)

yep the existing is looking better by the day, there’s so much underlying waiting to break through, my worry is there may be too much. Just seems to be a short koi, hard to describe but the distance from rear of dorsal to tail is too short, wasn’t really noticeable till she started growing. She’s probably gone from huge Tosai to small Nisai, but hey ho will wait to see what develops this year

If you ever feel like that sekiguchi Showa fancies the warmer southern climates I will take it to do you a favour and I won't ask for anything for the trouble

All nice, but that Goshiki is special.
Kikusui, Beni Kikokuryu, Hariwake, Sanke, Yotsujiro, Doitsu Aka Bekko, Purachina & Mukashi Ogon.
New pond build - First pond!
I would avoid garden centre koi tbh, usually way overpriced and from what I’ve seen not always in...
