Give up cant upload the video.
Kept about 40 in the main pond so way over 50 in there now

Will let the colours come through as they are doing now,was going to move some on this Autumn but think I will keep them all till spring when they should be a good size to move on,keeping a few for myself.

Must say the colours are very nice and they are growing well.
Got myself a small kiddies pool so easy to put up and down for storage.

So if I sort them out in the spring and put the ones to go in the small pool then I wont be catching them up all the time in the main pond.

A lot of mouths to feed in there John! You could easily get through 300g of mussels in one feeding.

Do you have any koi that are frightened of them?

I have one Showa and when he sees a mussel he darts off in the opposite direction, scared stiff of them!! All the others go crazy for them.

Your metallic Doitsu with the deep red markings really stands out, nice deep skin lustre.

Pea green at the moment mate, the Amalgam bulb in the drum blew - had less than 2 months total use out of it, probably less than 1 month as it is only switched on at night.

I wonder if switching it on and off has reduced its life.
Or maybe the fact it has a limescale build up on the bulb so must be getting damp.

    I don't know.

    Replacement bulb = £150

But I found the supplier who supplies the retailers and got one for £70.

I since found a European supplier who suppliers the British suppliers and they had them priced at 39 euro.

Anyway, new bulb has arrived and will be switching it on today.

Good luck with it Rs shows its best to shop around for anything, that's what I allways do.

I havnt had my UV on for 18 months now and dont need it,no green water and no blanket weed.
Maybe it's the reeds in the top pond helping.
