    Dainichi Super Monster Showa

So I may of got a little obsessed with getting a Super Monster Dainichi Showa, the more you see them the more impressive and unique the bodies are, for anyone who's looked this year prices have been a little crazy to say the least (particularly for Tosai). Anyway finally got one, hopefully with the potential to reach a good size/body (37cm Tosai). In the end choosing one that isnt going to run to a few grand was difficult, The one you really want you just know will be crazily priced and probably end up in a pond somewhere in Asia. Hopefully this one will turn out decent enough mind, not cheap, but not crazy expensive either. Fingers crossed when more Sumi comes on head and right shoulder will be more balanced, plus im a sucker for an eye patch lol

Its all a little confusing as im sure there's like super monster 1 2 and 3 etc. Im sure i read no 1 is 92 cms. In my mind im seeing her with a massive body and smashing the metre mark in no time . I still marvel at how they can get close to and over 40 cms as Tosai! Ill be dissapointed if she isnt 55 plus at Nissai

If you watch this video: https://youtu.be/rYvDUxOaMdo you can see the size of them Dainichi fish. Don't think the super monster is on there but then it don't need to be when there is literally a pond full of 90cm fish!!

Thats a lovely showa and as already mentioned, once the sumi comes through more it will improve even more so!

I’ve watched that a few times…. Also the Dianichi project vids from Ricky, mud pond type growth seems perfectly achievable here in the U.K. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...xoA5tcDYN0XqKJ

Ive spotted a nice Mona Lisa one too, tempted…

Where did you get it from Spongebob?

Got 4 showa here, but not expecting much from any of them, gonna keep one of them though as its the first Showa I bought, it hasn't grown that much. but its nice fish which I'm fond of,it was ill just after I bought it, but I managed to heal it after help from dealer and advice from Paula, so that one be staying.
But the other three are going, two definitely, the third one is 70/30 out the door as well, disappointed with the three unfortunately.

I really like your dianichi showa spongebob,
great structure, you can tell it has the capacity to go big.
they take while for the sumi to come up, but look stunning at the right age and size

this was one i bought from queni a couple of years ago at 55cm

    Unfortunately she got sinking disease.
Managed to keep her going for a year, in the hope she would pull round, but swimbladder was perforated.
had to euthanise her in the end...

Gutted Dave that was a stunner! Huge body, hope patch will look similar (eventually)

Due to the Indian summer im still at 20, so hoping for some more growth before the end of the season. The Sumi on patch seems to be developing very nicely, so fingers crossed, still hoping to get close to 50cm by the end of November

Having finally got some sort of stability (after adding two 75+ cm S/C's) im trying not to add, and need a 1 in 1 out policy! But its difficult and I feel i need another Dianichi showa :-)
